American Cockroach

Adult American Cockroaches are approximately 2" in length and are red-brown in color and have fully developed wings that cover the abdomen. The nymphs are about 1/4 inch in length when they hatch from the egg and are usually light brown.

American Cockroaches prefer hot and humid climates such as sewers, paper mills, steam tunnels, boiler rooms, lower levels of sky scrapers, and so forth. Capable of flight, they can fly from one building to the next.

Females will lay eggs about 5/16" in size and will hatch about 60 days later. The nymphs will molt 13 times before becoming adults which takes about 300 to 600 days depending on conditions.
