The German Cockroach is the most successful of the cockroaches and are the most common insect found in homes and apartments. An adult German cockroach ranges from 1/2" to 5/8" in length, is tan in color with two dark stripes running the length of the pronotum. Nymphs are dark, except for a small area in their back which is light brown. The German cockroach is found throughout the home, but the most heavily infested areas are the kitchen and bathrooms. The female will lay four to eight egg capsules in her lifetime, consisting of 30 to 40 eggs. Nymphs emerge from the capsule in about a month and will molt about seven times before reaching adulthood.
